Position is located: Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital

Work Type: Full Time

Hours Per Week: 40 Hours per Week

Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM

This position is eligible for a $7,000 (minus tax) sign on bonus with work commitment for less than 2 years' experience or $10,000 with more than 2 years' experience.

*Current employees of any Northern Light Health organizations or those with service breaks less than one year are not eligible to receive the sign-on bonus* 

Summary:

Assists in operations, under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains sterile operative fields. • Maintains inventory of medical supplies or equipment. • Assists healthcare practitioners during surgery. • Positions patients for treatment or examination. • Protect patients or staff members using safety equipment. • Maintains a safe environment complying with NLH policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed. • May perform other duties upon request.

Other Information:

Surgical Technician Certification preferred. BLS Required.

Working Conditions

Lifting, moving and loading 30 to 50 pounds. Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends).
