SCOPE AND PURPOSE
The Business Unit Finance (BUF) team partners with commercial leadership to shape strategy, drive portfolio/pricing decisions, and lead/participate in management processes that supports & enables us to be the fastest growing medical device company in Japan. Our role is to surface the right facts, past learnings, and partner with key stakeholders to drive decisions necessary to deliver market leading results. We strive to work closely with our functional and regional partners to understand the needs & challenges while ensuring that what we implement will drive value for our patients/stakeholders.
Senior Finance Analyst is a key position as Finance business partner for assigned business segment of the Franchise, with support of Franchise Controller (Sr. Finance Manager).
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The role will involve working closely with various business partners and finance counterparts within Japan organization, as well as finance regional office. He/She will also collaborate with GS (Global Service), Tax, and compliance team to ensure appropriate financial statements and internal controls.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Business Partnering as Franchise Controller:
+ Drives the business plan process, prepares presentations for the business plan and all forecast updates for management.
+ Support / lead projects and initiatives as Finance business partner.
+ Identifies business insights by analyzing actuals/budgets and initiate business actions.
+ Ensures that appropriate systems and processes are in place to report financials timely and accurately.
+ Identifies critical factors affecting profitability and evaluates the potential to achieve profit results consistent with Company goals.
Financial Planning and Reporting:
+ Contributes to the Business Planning cycles by collaborating with the FP&A team with support regional FP&A (COE) team. Influence goal setting for the franchises, including resource recommendations across activity types and businesses.
+ Partner with regional FP&A (COE) to ensure timely, accurate & appropriate regular reporting and communication to Regional / Local management including monthly sales dashboard, GP commentary, price and volume change analysis, NPI tracking, franchise P&L etc.
+ Collaborate to improve current practices by driving better accuracy, efficiency and simplicity.
Compliance and Audit:
+ Responsible for ensuring a strong compliant environment and driving this culture across the organization.
+ Provide support to business partners and compliance team to ensure compliance (SOX, HCC, FCPA, Taxation etc.)
+ Support both internal audit (SOX, FCPA etc.) and external audit (PWC, tax etc.)
**Qualifications**
REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably with a major in Accounting or Finance. An MBA, CPA, CMA, and/or other advanced degree(s) or financial certification(s) is preferred. A minimum of 5+ years of finance business experience is required.
Candidate must have:
+ Ability to effectively influence and shape business decisions
+ Strong communication and presentation skills both in English and Japanese

+ Strong commitment to compliance and being skilled in accounting and internal controls
+ Experience of implementing successful process improvements.
+ The location of this position is in Japan.
