The Associate Lab Safety Specialist, under the remote supervision of the QC manager based in an Incheon site, will plan, lead, and implement Safety and Environmental programs to achieve the Quality Control goals and strategies of the Incheon office of J&J Korea. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining robust processes that identify evaluate, and control safety in the workplace. This role collaborates with various business groups in the EHS team. This role will ensure compliance with local regulations and Johnson & Johnson EHS standards. This role also participates in diverse, multi-functional teams to provide solutions for Safety, JSA, and Environmental issues. [Responsibilities] + Chemical Management & Risk Assessment + Manage the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals in compliance with local regulations and global standards. + Conduct and maintain Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for laboratory processes and chemical handling. + Assess potential hazards related to laboratory chemicals, equipment, and processes, implementing risk control measures. + Safety Inspections & Hazard Reporting + Perform regular safety inspections in the QC laboratory, ensuring compliance with site EHS policies and regulatory requirements. + Identify, document, and report laboratory hazards, working closely with the QC team to implement corrective actions. + Monitor fume hoods, nitrogen freezers, and other safety-critical equipment for proper function and regulatory compliance. + EHS Compliance & Integration + Ensure adherence to local and global EHS regulations, laboratory safety guidelines, and corporate EHS policies. + Act as a liaison between the QC laboratory and the site EHS team, ensuring alignment with site-wide EHS procedures. + Support permit-to-work (PTW) processes for external contractors working in the lab. + Training & Safety Awareness + Conduct EHS training and safety briefings for laboratory staff on chemical handling, PPE use, and emergency response. + Update safety data sheets (SDS) and ensure laboratory personnel are trained in SDS interpretation. + Foster a safety-first culture within the QC laboratory through regular engagement and awareness programs. + Incident Management & Reporting + Lead incident investigations within the QC laboratory, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. + Ensure timely submission of safety reports to corporate and regulatory bodies. [Requirements] Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Safety, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. ( Fresh graduates or 1~3 years of career experience) + Certification: Engineer Industrial Safety ( 산업안전기사) or Industrial Engineer Industrial Safety ( 산업안전산업기사). + Knowledge of Korean EHS regulations, particularly related to chemical management and laboratory safety. + Strong communication skills in English and Korean, both verbal and written. + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in risk assessment and hazard mitigation. [Preferred Skills and Experience] + Experience in laboratory safety management and regulatory compliance. + Knowledge of global safety standards and best practices in chemical risk management. + Ability to collaborate effectively with QC teams, site EHS team, and corporate stakeholders. + Experience in hazardous chemical handling, JSA development, and risk assessment. + Ability to perform EHS inspections, hazard reporting, and compliance audits.
