Position:Creation Center Manager
■Objectives of the Position
· Improve and maintain the Creation Center facility in line with guidelines on safety, scope, budget and tidiness · Establish and maintain Creation Center as the first point-of-contact for designers & innovators to generate business opportunities for PM · Internally contribute in the Creation Center global network and externally, engage customers to establish Creation Center as an inspiring material showcase and solution provider through discovery of PM material portfolio, understanding the technical possibilities and facilitate to co-create from ideas to proof-of-concepts
■Main Tasks
· Procure, update and maintain Creation Center’s facility including consumables, furniture, equipment, display systems, materials & commercial samples · Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of material information, seminars, workshops and customer events · Promote Creation Center with internal stakeholders and customers through media, exhibitions, networking activities and customer visits to broaden relationships and access to the design innovations team · Identify creative problem-solving winning strategies and solutions with BASF resources, partners and independent external resources · Stay informed of activities and competencies of, with frequent communication with key PM colleagues from segments i.e Sales, R&D, Comms, and other departments to have access to their expertise and collaborations · Proactively research and understand market, design, innovation and material trends and exchange such information with customers to position BASF as holistic solution provider · Continuously stay up-to-date with the latest technologies to ensure efficient operation · Increase involvement in early-stage of the customer design, and product development related projects to promote BASF material solutions
Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position
· Education: Design Bachelor or equivalent · Working Experience: Minimum 8 years with strong associations with design communities in Japan · Native or professional proficiency in Japanese, good English written and speaking a must · Technical & Professional Knowledge: MS Suite, Adobe Suite, prototyping programs a plus. Knowledge of thermoplastic and CMF materials. Proven Japanese design knowledge and insights · A true believer of team spirit with open-minded creative personality with strong problem solving and project management skills · Self-motivated, client facing confidence to work independently with an entrepreneurial mind set
