医薬情報担当者として、医療機関を訪問し、自社の医薬品に関する医薬情報（医薬品およびその関連情報）を医師、薬剤師、看護師などの医療従事者に提供し、医薬品の適正な使用と普及を図ること、また、使用された医薬品の有効性情報（効き目や効果的な使い方）や安全性情報（副作用など）を医療の現場から収集して報告すること、そして医療現場から得られた情報を正しい形で医療関係者にフィードバック（伝達）することなどを主な業務。
