Purpose

 

The QC Technician is responsible for performing routine quality control testing and inspections in the laboratory to ensure that products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves conducting tests, recording and analyzing data, and maintaining laboratory equipment and cleanliness.

 

This position also administrates quality responses to meet customer acceptable timelines and supports efforts for continuous improvement and quality performance target achievement.

 

Conduct Testing and Inspections:

Perform routine quality control tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.

Utilize laboratory instruments and equipment to conduct tests accurately and efficiently.

Ensure all testing is conducted in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality standards.

Data Recording and Analysis:

Record test results accurately and maintain detailed laboratory records.

Analyze test data and report any deviations or non-conformities to the QC Manager.

Assist in investigating quality issues and implementing corrective actions.

Equipment Maintenance:

Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.

Ensure all equipment is in proper working condition and report any malfunctions.

Compliance and Safety:

Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards.

Continuous Improvement:

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory processes and efficiency.

Assist in developing and updating SOPs and quality control procedures.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with production and quality assurance teams to ensure product quality.

Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding quality issues and improvements.

 

Requirements:

Years of Experience:

At least 3 years’ experience in a laboratory or quality control environment is desirable.

 

Educational Requirements:

Associate degree or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Special gas, biology, or related field preferred.

 

Certifications: 

Certified as a Quality Professional at a minimum completed the ISO9001 QMS Auditor/Lead Auditor Certification. Can certify on the job.

 

Special Skills/Abilities: 

Familiar with ICPMS.Knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS Requirements; plus reference for the IATF 16949English communication skills both written and verbalProblem solving skills such as RCA, 8D, 5Why’sKnowledge of Word, Excel, LIMS, 6 sigma a plusStrong attention to detail and analytical skills.Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Ability to follow SOPs and work independently.
