Job Description:

The Life & Health (L&H) Operations Teams comprise of functions across Underwriting, Policy Administration, Claims, Client Service and Case Management for supporting the life insurance business.

Our Underwriting team is responsible to provide all-rounded and professional services ranging from data capturing, risk assessment and determine underwriting alternatives to establish terms of coverage, recommending appropriate coverage on medical cases for new business, providing advisory service to distribution channels (agency/brokerage/bancassurance) as well as involving in digital projects that could further enhance the client journey and onboarding experience.

Job Responsibilities

Perform underwriting risk assessment within the delegated authority limit for accurate, fair, prompt and appropriate underwriting decision.

Be supportive of One Sun Life for Underwriting including assist in peak periods.

Collaborate closely with the SLF HNW HuBS to achieve the SLF Global HNW goals.

Manage the delivery of underwriting services in accordance with the Company’s underwriting philosophy on their and the team’s workload to ensure best in class service as a HNW underwriting team unit.

Participate in projects related to Underwriting. 

Collaborate with various business partners and distributors to make SLHK the no.1 HNW business in Hong Kong.

Job Requirements

University degree or above

Completion of the FLMI and FALU designations or willingness to complete over the next 5 years or equivalent

Over 10 years of experience in life underwriting with at least 2 years of experience in the HNW space working with local and international brokers is a key advantage

Strong life product and operational business knowledge. Detailed and clear understanding and ability to manage risk, AML, CDD, KYC and regulatory environment / changes in Hong Kong.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Strong ability to assess priorities and negotiate with clients accordingly

PC literate in underwriting systems and tools, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint processing

Understanding the needs and risks of all clients across Agency, FI and HNW

Good language proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Putonghua)

Good language proficiency in spoken Cantonese is a plus

*One-off relocation assistance allowance and work visa support will be provided to non-local candidates who is currently residing outside HKSAR
