Position Purpose:

The Computer Operator II executes and modifies programs and monitors job processing of Data Center Infrastructure, Mainframes, AS400s, and various systems including web-based application/system monitor such as AppDynamics, PeopleSoft, and others. The operator takes the necessary corrective action or escalates issues as needed. Needs to have an advanced understanding of how processes impact the business to make time sensitive decisions. Other responsibilities include maintaining computer systems, office/building maintenance, data entry, and maintaining security of the building and premises. This role requires significant attention to detail for critical time sensitive processes and file transmissions to and from the stores, distributions centers, and numerous systems and must provide excellent customer service to our external and internal customers. Must be able to work in a typical office environment and a remote work environment.

Responsibilities:

Performs administrative functions to ensure policies and procedures are upheldCoordinates with developers, programmers, and system administrators for process improvementExecute programs based on documentation, system schedules, and file availability between various systemsMaintain and improve process instructions and documentationMonitor various systems and taking corrective action or issue escalationGenerate reports and distributeMaintains incident logs for all monitored systemsResolves user problems by answering questions and requestsEnsures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and tests and following manufacturer’s instructionsResponds to incoming messages, emails, telephone calls, and voice mail inquiries from internal & external customersMaintains customer confidence and protect the business by maintaining confidentiality when requiredOther tasks as assigned

Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent work experienceSignificant attention to detail, promptness, critical thinking, and ability to adapt quickly to shifting prioritiesProven team and leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and follow instructionsAbility to work with minimal supervision2 years’ experience in MS Office, Mainframe, AS400 and UNIX a plusCover various shifts 24x7x365 (including holidays)
