What’s new
DevOps is about transforming the functional work experience between development and operations teams by breaking down silos between two traditionally separate roles. We are currently seeking candidates for our multi-disciplinary team within the Infrastructure and Operations (ITS I&O) portfolio.  The focus for this role is IT Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and covers all areas of IT infrastructure, and candidates from many backgrounds are encouraged to apply! 

 

What you will do 
By joining the I&O Product Release team, you will be part of a Scrum development team that has already begun breaking down barriers and preconceptions of what it means to “operate” IT infrastructure. Your role is to share and apply your expertise and experience, to deliver value through every sprint.

What you need to succeed
You are a self-starter with the ability to quickly grasp the essence of complex issues. As an effective communicator, you clearly convey key points in a style appropriate to a variety of audiences. 

 

You are self-motivated, and independent, requiring little supervision.  You will actively contribute in creating positive team dynamics by engaging in productive and respectful conversations, helping team members who may be struggling and having a positive attitude towards the team's goals.

 

The successful candidate has: 

Experience with programming and/or scripting, e.g.: YAML, Python, Powershell, Javascript or working knowledge in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g.: Java, C, C#, C++) Experience with one or more infrastructure automation technologies, e.g.: Ansible Tower, Azure DevOps, VMWare vRealize Suite, Terraform or ServiceNOW workflow automation A strong IT infrastructure background for the Senior position, and a history demonstrating strong technical skills For the Senior position, an existing understanding of network platforms and internetworking architectures like virtual local area networks (VLANs), routers, switches and network protocols An existing understanding of one or more virtual infrastructure platforms like VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Linux KVM, etc. Familiarity with Agile and DevOps principles and tools (e.g.: Jira, scrum, etc.)  test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features A passion for collaboration / sharing / coaching with colleagues

Your education and experience

Your combined education and work experience demonstrate that you are effective at learning and applying new skills.  For the level 16 role, we are seeking someone with about 5 years of relevant experience. For the level 17 senior role, we are seeking 7+ years of experience. 
 

 

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve second their language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.

Hybrid Work Model

Most employees can telework from home for a substantial part of each month as part of the Bank`s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of eight days per month to help build connections between colleagues. Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $108,874 to $128,087 (job grade 17) and from $92,346 and 108,643 (job grade 16) The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  7 to 10% of your base salary for level 17 and 5 to 7% for level 16 . The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for level 17 and 3% for level 16 for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
