About the Opportunity

 

The Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit (MSSU) supports the conduct and implementation of patient-oriented research addressing Maritime health priorities. The Halifax node of the MSSU is comprised of a dynamic team of individuals who initiate and respond to requests for research supports. Reporting to the Executive Director, Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit, the Evidence Synthesis Coordinator will provide project specific support to researchers, decision-makers, and patient partners in all three Maritime provinces. The Coordinator's most significant responsibilities will be to provide expertise and search support for systematic reviews and other evidence synthesis projects. Additionally, the Coordinator will offer evidence synthesis training opportunities as required to support research and to facilitate evidence-informed healthcare practice and policy.

 

About You

 

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

Bachelor's Degree required in the Health Sciences. Another related discipline (e.g. Psychology or Epidemiology) may be considered as an equivalent qualification Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) or equivalent preferred Experience supporting health research is a major asset, particularly support involving literature searching, complex search strategy design, and synthesis Experience providing one-on-one literature review consultation services is an asset Experience providing training and/or designing training resources in evidence synthesis is an asset Effective research, project management, and analytical thinking skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team environment Advanced proficiency in electronic database searching Proficiency in word processing software, presentation software, data management software, and reference management software Demonstrated time management and organizational skills Ability to work with a wide variety of people and personalities in a professional manner Demonstrated self-starter, decision-maker and problem-solver Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

 

Full-time, long assignment (75 hours bi-weekly) Approximately a two-year long assignment, starting as soon as possible This role is hybrid and is based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia Compensation and Benefits

$35.27 - $44.09 Hourly

$68,780.79 - $85,976.09 Annually
