About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director Forensic Psychiatry Services, Mental Health and Addictions in Central Zone and working under the leadership of the Clinical Director of Forensic Psychiatry Services, the CCRB Coordinator will prepare and write high-quality Criminal Code Review Board reports which will be comprised in large part from submissions from various clinical disciplines summarizing their involvement in the patient’s care. The CCRB reports provide clinical insight to the legal issues related to patients with severe and persistent mental illness who have come into conflict with the law and are placed in the forensic mental health system by the court.

 

The CCRB Coordinator will work collaboratively with the clinical team members to develop these reports and will assist in providing training and ongoing support to interdisciplinary teams across the forensic psychiatry program to ensure high quality CCRB reports.

 

In addition to a primary focus on the development of reports and related tasks, this role will involve working on other related projects such as collaboration with other forensic staff to assist with program evaluation, research and knowledge translation and training. This will include remaining apprised of important court decisions bearing on assessment and management of forensic patients, as well as assisting in the service’s review, development, implementation, and evaluation of best practices in forensic mental health.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

Master’s degree in psychology Demonstrated knowledge of CCRB processes and Court processes preferred Demonstrated understanding of the factors influencing patient risk to the public, including familiarity with research literature related to violence risk assessment and management of violence risk by forensic services. Knowledge of research methods, data collection, familiarity/proficiency with statistical software, analysis of data, interpretation of statistical output, and program evaluation. Knowledge of psychiatric conditions, terminology, and related treatments. Ability to apply knowledge of the Mental Health Act and PHIPA. Ability to review data and clinical files to extract relevant information for the preparation of comprehensive reports. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and adopt a leadership role in meetings with people at various levels Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, written (including report writing) and verbal communication skills, including the ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy with varied groups of stakeholders, including frontline staff, physicians, administrators. Intermediate level proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint and skill with learning and navigating new forms of software (e.g., electronic health information systems). Highly competent and effective presentation and meeting facilitation skills including the ability to present and discuss complex information in a way that enables and establishes rapport, persuades, and influences others and gains understanding Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours Long Assignment, Full-Time / 75 Hours Bi-weekly  March 2025 to March 2026, approximately 12 months Compensation and Benefits

$35.56 - $43.17 Hourly
