About the position: 
We are seeking analytical & collaborative individuals to join our Information technology Services (ITS) department! 
 
Within the department and specific portfolio, you will you play a key role in supporting the Portfolio Directors and project managers. This includes analyzing and reporting on project resource effort, costs, and highlighting trends and variances within project budgets and forecasts. You’ll work both independently and in a team environment, as well as take on additional tasks when needed to assist the project teams 
 
Further – you will have the full support of your leader and team to further your career through the Bank’s customizable Learning & Development programs across various domains including tools, frameworks, and certifications. 
 
What you will do    
As a Project Controller, you are responsible for providing analytic and project-monitoring support to the Director and the portfolio’s project managers.  You will also assist the project manager with resource-monitoring and end-of-month financial reporting. 
  
In addition, you will be responsible for:  

Working in collaboration with the project managers to track progress and modify schedules as necessary, and assist teams in identifying financial risks and opportunities with their initiatives    Extracting and interpreting information (schedules, costs, benefits, resources, capacity, risks, etc.) that will effectively guide delivery teams and support their decision-making processes  Preparing reports and dashboards related to planning, tracking, and monitoring of schedules, costs, benefits, resources, capacity, risks, etc.  Using the data collected to prepare portfolio status reports for management, steering committees, and other senior management groups.   Building strong relationships with business partners from multiple corporate business lines to gain strong understanding of Portfolio Governance expectations.    Maintain and contribute to the SharePoint Online repository to properly document project financials, reports, and other important project documentation.  Ensure the continuous improvement of support tools and processes by working closely with ITS partners and review existing project controls and systems and propose additional controls, when necessary.  

 
What you need to succeed 
You can independently and systematically analyze information, specifically numerical and financial information, and can identify and define problems and draw logical conclusions. You are also a great team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills to network with your peers and build collaborative working relationships. Additionally, you can think ahead, prioritize, and organize your work and time effectively.  
 
In addition, you have:  

Proven experience as a Project Controller (or similar position)   Experience with budgets, forecasting, financial reporting, or statistical analysis   Experience with supporting multiple leaders and managers at the same time  Experience using Microsoft Office, especially Excel & Outlook 

 
Nice-to-have:  

Experience using Adaptive (Integrated Management Planning Application)  Experience with Office 365 and/or SharePoint    Experience using SAP (finance)  Experience using PowerBI and ServiceNow (PPM)

 
Your education and experience  
Your combined education and work experience demonstrate that you have the proficiencies and skills for the role.  We are ideally seeking candidates with a relevant degree/diploma and 2+ years of relevant experience. 
 

 

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French.  The position language requirement is Level 5 (Fully Functional).  If a qualified candidate who meets the language requirement of the position is not found, a qualified candidate who does not meet the language requirement may be considered. Hybrid Work Model

The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a substantial part of each month as part of the Bank`s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of eight days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $2,763 to $3,250 (bi-weekly, job grade 14)
