Minimum Requirements:
The accounting processing software platform they use for patient/payer (health insurance company)/physician accounts receivable and payable is a home grown system development in VB6. The consultant that built it has left the company, and now they need a consultant to step in and perform the following service. An important note is that they have no intention of keeping this platform, so therefore this consultant needs to be senior. The consultant will not only do hands-on VB6 maintenance, but will evaluate the entire system to understand how the system is used by the payers and the respective physician offices, understand the appropriate feature-sets, document the business and functional requirements, and provide a basis for whether a new system can be converted from VB6 to .NET or research whether an existing packaged solution in the marketplace exists.
1. Must have development experience using VB6 in order to provide hands-on system maintenance and support.
2. 5+ years of .NET 4.0 design and development experience (architect experience a big plus).
3. Previous conversion from VB6 to .NET technology (highly desired)
4. Business and systems analysis experience in evaluating existing systems and documenting/recommending go-forward strategy (build vs. buy)
5. Knowledge of SQL Server 2008
6. Experience in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) health insurance and/or physician billing and reporting systems
7. Ability to work independently and within a small business environment
