1_Supervisor_Quality Control

Position Summary: 

Provide direction and supervision for the plant(s) Quality Control Department by effectively communicating with management and associates, standardization of quality system processes, development and implementation of plans for continuous improvement, and by providing opportunities for personal and professional development of associates.   

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

Work with manager to establish budget, meet budget targets, analyze variances, identify cost reduction opportunities & track expenses. Manage and support key projects.  Work with other departments as needed to elicit necessary resources for successful project completion. Work with plants to improve quality and product flow.  Help plants resolve quality problems and implement effective quality systems.  Make informed product quality decisions. Work with suppliers to contain, replace, and resolve part component issues in a timely fashion Quality Systems Support - Ensure that corporate quality systems and procedures are implemented and followed at the plant(s).  Support Quality Assurance activities as need (examples include quality training, audits, customer return evaluations, corrective actions, etc.) Maintain appropriate staffing levels, shift coverage, and inspection capabilities (skills and equipment).  Identify and recommend opportunities for cross training to improve flexibility. Develop skills of inspectors, and technicians, in the areas of leadership, customer support, problem solving etc.  Provide coaching for associate performance issues as needed.  Administer performance and wage system. Build effective working relationships with department & plant leadership. Monthly Reporting - Report on key projects, production support activities, and personnel issues as needed.  Provide analysis of QC indicators information. 

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Required: 

High School diploma or equivalent  Strong Communicator  Manufacturing Process  Problem Solving Methodologies  Associate Development  ISO 9000 awareness 

Preferred: 

2 years of experience in related field or technical background preferred

 Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements: 

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.  Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Must be able to pass pre-employment and annual Vision Acuity tests
