Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. **What You'll Be Doing** + Verify Vessel and Crew are suitable for the intended routes + Ensure navigational assessments are completed prior to getting underway and updated as needed throughout each trip. + Ensure required inspection, reports, drills, logbook entries and items required by the Towing Vessel Record are completed as necessary. + Supervise crew to ensure safe and efficient work practices are being followed. + Follow Safety Policies, including the proper use of PPE. Maintain an awareness of environmental standards. Take corrective action to address minor problems or report compliance issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution. **What Are We Looking For** + Must be able and willing to work on the waterway for up to 30 consecutive days, living aboard the vessel. + Must comply with all federal, state and local guidelines. + Previous experience in the barge towing industry required. + US Coast Guard Master of Towing Vessels Upon Western Rivers MMC Required. + Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. **Conditions of Employment** + Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. + Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing. **Work Environment** + Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level. **What We Offer** + $61.66 per hour + Benefits through the Union for Medical, Dental, Vision + Union paid vacation, sick leave and holidays Equal Opportunity Employer - Minority / Female / Veteran / Disabled **Req ID** JR10003913
