Position Summary

The Salvation Army’s Creative Arts and Music Program in Orange County is launching a music academy in Anaheim. We are seeking a cheerful, optimistic, organized, and self-motivated individual with strong communication skills and flexibility to manage a new office.

Essential Functions

Specific Duties:

Overseeing the general functions, activities, and events of the office during classes Supporting the school’s weekly operations, including providing support to staff, ensuring correct enrollment, and creating an encouraging, friendly, and engaging environment for students Communicating with director via phone, email, and in person Communicating with parents, greeting families, answering questions, and helping guide students and parents through the building Assisting teachers with both planned and spontaneous tasks when needed Managing program software during classes General office work Providing quality customer service to every current and potential customer

Working Conditions

Ability to sit for long periods of time with breaks, and walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent basis.  Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.  Ability to operate computer and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

High school diploma. AA or BA degree preferred Experience in this field a plus Must be dependable and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and the ability and willingness to learn quickly Proficiency in, or ability learn quickly, computer work (Google Drive/Sheets/Docs) References required

Minimum Qualifications

A criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures. Organization and time management Ability to communicate and relate well with students, parents, co-workers, and community members Ability to multitask Bilingual in Spanish a plus Must be dependable, able to communicate effectively, problem solve, plan, organize, think critically, work well alone and with others, and be a team player.
