Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in related field highly preferred. 6+ months of direct work experience in a financial analysis capacity, including all aspects of project support/analysis is required.6+ months of financial forecasting experience.6+ months of working knowledge of automated data systems.6+ months of experience running queries, generating reports to support management, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in an automated environment. 6+ months of experience researching data anomalies, evaluating information gathered (sometimes from multiple sources), and reconciling data conflicts. 6+ months of experience applying a diversified knowledge of analysis principles and practices.

Description

This role will support the Transmission Engineering Business Intelligence and Integrity Organization (TEBI), supporting the Transmission (T) Business Line for Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). This position will serve as a Financial Analyst for the Transmission capital and expense programs designated by the TEBI manager, Internal Operations Manager, Executive Manager or BFTE Project Manager (PM). In addition, this position will conduct financial analysis and forecasting of capital, expense, and reimbursable programs to validate compliance with BPA capitalization and expense policies. The Financial Analyst works with a variety of individuals and organizations across BPA, to include Executives, Management, Finance, Project Managers, Account Executives, Customer Service Engineers (CSEs), and other Federal Agency Officials.

Responsibilities Include:

Perform financial analysis and provide recommendations based on Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and A-123 guidelines.Perform monthly analysis of past and present financial expenditures to estimate and support financial forecasts, and other ad hoc analysis as requested.Evaluate and analyze program costs, identify errors, and recommend the appropriate corrective action, monitor until corrections have been completed. Alert the BPA manager of any errors or obstacles encountered.Work closely with Project/Program Manager(s) responsible for capital and expense programs by researching, forecasting, analyzing, extracting, tracking, reviewing, completing, and consolidating costs vs. estimates for major projects.Conduct data analysis and reporting for one or more of the following End of Year and Start of Year Reporting, Quarterly Business Review, Integrated ProgramReview, Lease Finance Program, Finance Committee Executive Management, Finance, Management Assertion, Target Tracking, Capital Investment Acquisition.Conduct ongoing financial training to update Project Managers and/or Performance Managers regarding process workflow, methodologies, and technologies related to agency and Transmission financial responsibilities. Identify gaps and process improvements for various financial activities and subjects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $35.00
