Site Manager - 132kV Substation

We are looking for a dedicated and highly experienced Site Manager to lead the civil and electrical installation for a 132kV grid connection at a Solar PV site in Nottingham.

The successful candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of electrical substation installations, demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities, and exhibit a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless and efficient execution of a new electrical grid connection, contributing to the development of renewable energy infrastructure in the area.

 

Main Duties

Overall management of the Civil and Electrical installation Managing teams of on-site personnel (works scheduling, team rostering, KPI's, safety & development) Management of 3rd party contract works on site Project budget management – reporting and integration with Commercial team Enforce safety policies for the safety and wellbeing of staff Perform Quality and Safety Inspections/Audits. Understanding of Contractual requirement > Direct and manage variations, estimate and approvals. Represent Mitie in the local community – interaction with land owners and local stakeholders. Communicate effectively with the Client, Project Managers and sub-contractors. Ability to Operate Effectively within a Team Environment A team-based approach to achieving objectives is needed to reflect and enhance the emerging culture and climate of Renewables. Generate, implement and audit against Safe Systems of Work (SSOW). Promote a healthy work environment for all employees. What we are looking for Full & Current Driving Licence SMSTS First Aid at work. CSCS (black card preferrable) Electrical Qualifications (Preferrable) HV Electrical Certification / Experience (Preferrable) Civil / Construction Qualifications (Preferable) HSE: Constant awareness, report risks and hazards Ability to understand / operate and manage technical and business computer software packages. Ability to read and understand Electrical and Construction drawings Electrical Isolation (LOTO) procedures. - LV & HV Understanding of electrical standards and regulations Experience in running & managing utility energy assets and/or energy distribution assets Appropriate level of commercial acumen commensurate with position, some knowledge of commercial contracts. Previous experience in utility solar or storage construction (Preferrable)
