Location Description The Post Consumer Brands plant in Sparks, Nevada celebrated 30 years of cereal manufacturing in 2021. Home to about 180 team members, the plant is part of our West Coast network and supplies a variety of private label cereal to our retail customers. Just outside of Reno, Nevada, Sparks has no shortage of fun and engaging activities, including rodeos, festivals, and outdoor recreation. The Sparks team also supports the local Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Responsibilities POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the facility facilities and facilities equipment while maintaining a safe work environment. Support, implement, and maintain food safety and quality practices as required through SQF and our Construction and Repair process. Will be responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety and environmental practices. Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Perform building and routine maintenance – Grounds, doors, docks and dock locks, roofs, lights, painting, overhead doors, filters, irrigation, walks, parking lots and making facility repairs when necessary. Perform maintenance and repair to facility related equipment such as doors, docks, lights, elevators, sprinkler systems, and security systems. Maintain and operate company vehicles. Maintain, test, and operate plant generators for power outage needs and issues. Maintain and inspect P-1/2 controlled negative air environment. Work with and provide direction to contractors and vendors. Organize and manage inventory of remote storage facilities. Change filters in HVAC units throughout the facility. Perform grounds maintenance as needed. Tag equipment per prints and flow diagrams. Organize and clean assigned maintenance areas and storage areas. Perform safety inspections. Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication skills while focused on customer service. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed. Manual dexterity for delicate work. Frequently stoop, squat, twist, reach, climb stairs while performing job duties. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Work in all plant areas and outside the plant which can include heights up to 30 ft, working on ladders, confined spaces and catwalks. Exposure to extreme heat and cold, humidity, fumes, gases, odors and dust. Exposure to high noise levels. Work around moving machinery that is electrically and mechanically hazardous. Also work with highly combustible or potentially explosive equipment. Comfortable wearing Post Consumer Brands' uniform and required PPE including but not limited to: bump-cap, hair net, beard net, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, steel-toed shoes, etc. Performs all other miscellaneous job related duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION: Two years schooling or equivalent experience in facility/building carpentry, mechanical, or electrical. Valid driver's license, with DOT medical card Special Class Boiler's license or higher, Universal refrigeration license is preferred. EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job levels as described. Also desired is knowledge of preventative maintenance practices, plant operations and government safety regulations. Ability to work 8 hour shifts on a regularly scheduled basis in which standing, kneeling, climbing and walking are required. Manual dexterity for delicate work.
