**Job Title: Welder** **Job Description** Produce high quality products and services for our customers. You will monitor production output and ensure that products meet customer specifications and quality expectations. You will be responsible for your work area to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the area. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, fabricating and repairing metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate weld techniques and monitoring assembly and continuous process improvement at the site to address safety, production, and adherence to quality. **Responsibilities** + Demonstrate ability to follow direction, read weld symbols, schematics, and blueprints. + Select, measure, cut, and join appropriate metals to specifications. + Prepare metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage. + Regularly clean and inspect welding equipment and tools. + Safely operate forklift and all other lift assist and tools. + Test each assembly to ensure proper fit and function. + Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools. + Accurately track and log assembly time sheets for each project. + Properly identify and document QMS and department procedures. + Maintain work area cleanliness. + Adhere to all safety standards and plant rules. + Test the strength of each joint during and after project completion. + Liaise with leadership to report issues and continuously improve processes. + Utilize tape measures, calipers, squares, micrometers, and protractors. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Mig welding, Flux core, Tig welding (3-5 years of experience preferred) + MIG (.035 and .045 wire) (fillet welds, flat, vertical up and down) carbon steel + TIG (occasionally stainless or aluminum) + Tape measure proficiency + Decimal/fraction conversions and basic arithmetic + Blueprint reading + Layout/fit-up and weld **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Technical education is a plus. + Must pass weld test. + Computer literacy. + Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 40 pounds. + High School Diploma or GED equivalent is a plus. **Why Work Here?** Join a growing company with a good reputation that has recently moved its new business to St. Louis. Train on 1st shift for the majority of the 90-day period, then move to 2nd shift. Voluntary overtime while on contract, which may become mandatory once permanent. 1st shift: 6:00am-2:30pm, 2nd shift: 2:30pm-11:00pm. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, Missouri. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.54 - $25.54/hr.
