Overview

Naples Esplanade is a private, member-owned club with an 18-hole golf course that produces approximately 50,000 rounds per year. The 1st Assistant Golf Professional will assist the Director of Golf in creating and maintaining an exceptional member experience along with a positive work environment for all employees.  The ideal candidate will have prior private club experience that will enable him or her to successfully operate in a fast-paced, high-intensity atmosphere while providing world class customer service to all members and their guests.

Experience Required

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Class A PGA Professional in good standing - PGA Apprentices will be considered but at a minimum must have completed Level II. Must have a desire to grow the game through individual and group instruction. Extensive experience in tournament operations with strong command of Golf Genius tournament software. Well organized with a strong background in merchandise operations.

Essential Responsibilities

Assists Director of Golf in the management of all golf operations staff.
• Conducts all member golf tournaments and related activities.
• Assists members by providing and interpreting golf policies, rules, and regulations.
• Conducts golf clinics and lessons as requested and as time allows.
• Maintains club USGA handicap system.
• Plays golf with members of all skill levels to generate enthusiasm.
• Operates golf shop in conjunction with staff.
• Assumes Director of Golf duties in his or her absence.
• Manages the daily opening and closing of golf operations.
• Trains, supervises, schedules, all golf shop personnel.
• Assists in the coordination of tournaments and special events.
• Oversees starter and on course attendants as required.
• Ensures course boundaries/penalty areas are properly marked for events.
• Attends staff meetings when requested.
• Performs all duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
• Makes decisions/solves problems independently regarding operational issues in the Golf operations department.
• Maintains cleanliness of golf shop and surrounding areas.
• Other duties as assigned by General Manager and Director of Golf
• Requires a superior sense of customer service and professional behavior.
• Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective and positive working relationships with superiors, coworkers, and members.
• Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Knowledgeable and proficient in computer applications such as the Foretees reservation system, Jonas point-of-sale system, Golf Genius Golf Shop, Schedule Pop, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Canva.
