 Description: 

ATCO Frontec is seeking a 1st Cook to join our Camp Services team in Elk Valley, BC. The 1st  Cook will be responsible for ensuring that meals are prepared and served in accordance with company standards. The 1st Cook provides coverage for the Chef when he/she is out on rotation.  This role will work nights and be responsible for supervision of staff.

The rotation for this role is 20 days on and 10 days off.

 

Responsibilities: 

Assist the Chef in managing food services in compliance with Food Service Management Guides and Provincial and Federal Regulations  

Assist the Chef in the preparation of all foods to be served in accordance with meal plans and schedules  

Assist the Chef in the inventory control to maintain appropriate level of inventory at all times  

Assign duties and responsibilities to ensure that kitchen staff complete their given tasks in a professional and timely manner  

Train workers in food preparation, service, sanitation, and safety procedures in accordance with government regulations and Health and Safety policies, procedures and guidelines.  

Inspect facilities or equipment for regulatory compliance  

Other duties as assigned  

 

Qualifications: 

5 or more years’ experience in a related field of work including baking and breakfast cook experience 

Must have Red Seal Certification  

Advanced Food Safe Certificate Required  

Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract is required  

CSTS would be an asset  

Lead by example in promoting a respectful and professional work environment  

Strong organization and leadership skills  

Work well under pressure  

Effective problem-solving skills
