Role Description
The 1st Line Risk Oversight Manager is required to support the implementation and application of the Risk Management Framework responsibilities.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Work across the business to ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of Risk Events, providing challenge to content and cause of the Event to ensure it is factually accurate.
Ensure delivery of quality, accurate Risk Events to clients in a timely manner, with appropriate assessment of regulatory impact.
Production of Risk Event Management Information.
Identifying efficiencies and improvements in the process related to quality and timeliness.
Root Cause and thematic analysis along with working with the business to improve the control environment to reduce the volume of Risk Events.
Provide support to 1st Line Risk Analysts/ Seniors with daily processes and management of client accounts.
Ensure all client queries, error logs and control tasks are completed within agreed deadlines.
Completion of quality checking for Client Risk Event reports in line with company matrix.
Act as escalation point for 1st Line Risk Team in first instance.
Functional Area Responsibilities
Be proactive, organised and actively provide ideas of innovation and process improvement.
Build and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders and clients to ensure engagement with our strategy.
Be informed of sector-wide developments and those beyond the business sector.
Undertake any other reasonable duties, as determined by the Manager and Head of 1st Line Risk - UK.
Ensure all mandatory training is completed in a timely fashion.
Experience required
It is incumbent upon the 1st Line Risk Oversight Manager to ensure they are competent and have high performance in the following areas:
Be able to understand complex edicts, regulation guidelines, insurance products, and financial legislation. Prior experience with risk analysis and management in the UK financial regulation market is essential.
Technical knowledge in product life cycle, market risk solutions, fixed income products, credit risk and attributions.
Written and verbal communication should be of a high standard, along with the ability to influence and challenge.
Ability to communicate effectively at a variety of levels within a regulated environment, both internally and externally, written and oral.
Numeracy and literacy.
Punctual and deadline driven.
Analytical thinking.
An ability to work within tight and dynamic time constraints.
Conducting meetings and presentations skilfully.
Strong attention to detail.
