Job Description
We are searching for a 1st shift Brake Press Operator to support our production staff. The right candidate will perform dimensional inspections, maintain tools and equipment, set up machines, and ensure quality production output.
ResponsibilitiesPerform all dimensional inspections using calipers, height gauges, protractors, and steel rulers to ensure production output meets requirements.Perform routine operator maintenance and operational checks on all tools and equipment, including tool cleaning with stone, machine oiling, fluid level/air pressure checks, and safety switch functioning.Select and set up tools, equipment, and machines required for quality productions based on production specifications and/or Lead’s instructions.Review machine tooling requirements and plan set-up/operations to optimize workflow through the cell/department.Understand the effects of the forming process on downstream operations.Make machine/tooling adjustments to bring non-conforming output into specifications.Create new programs on the machine.Cross-train in multiple workstations.Understand deflection of material and spring back along the piece.Adjust and control RAM speeds on the press during part bending.Understand different types of bending and material reactions, including growth or shrinking.Load thickness, bends, and tolerances of the material.Demonstrate a full understanding of compound tolerances.Complete reference sheets for complicated parts.Set up needed tooling.Achieve and maintain any certifications required in their work area.Work independently without supervision.Produce quality work at company standard efficiency levels for the assigned work center.Meet or exceed company standard PPM levels.Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the assigned work center.Retain the knowledge of each job.Essential Skills2+ years of related experience preferred.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, memos, and simple instructions.Knowledge of basic business math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Understanding of when to add shims (.010, .020) and when to use different I-axis blocks.Knowledge of tooling for hemming or offsets.Understanding V-opening in dies vs. material thickness.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This job operates in a very clean, climate-controlled facility. The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration, and occasionally to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level is usually moderate and occasionally loud. Physical demands include regular standing, sitting, handling objects, and talking or hearing. Occasionally, the employee must climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift/move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $47000.00 - $47000.00/yr.
