Job Title: Hang Operator                                                                                                      

Department: Pack/ Finishing

Reports to: Supervisor

FLSA status: Nonexempt

Pay Rate $18.50-$27.98

POSITION SUMMARY

The Hang Operator is responsible for the equipment performance output metrics and quality of the parts processed through the department using the proper hang sequence and part orientation sequence. In addition, the Hang Operator is responsible for the manual operation and autonomous maintenance of the equipment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, which are to be performed accurately, efficiently, within company safety and quality standards, and within required time frames as needed.  Other duties may be assigned.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

Use AS400 Scheduling tools to hang cylinders, drop plates, miscellaneous parts, and all other required parts using the Block system for most efficient operation.Use daily hang requirement schedule for quantity takt attainment.Use stand work and OMS guides for part hanging sequence and optimal positioning for powder coat application.Hang parts in a team environment which interaction with Team Leaders, Leads, and other personnel is pertinent to the success of the operation.Perform quality checks on parts and products using stand work and OMS guidesPerform miscellaneous duties as assigned including working in other departmentsFollow all safety regulations for equipment use.Perform all housekeeping tasks using 5S standardsFlexibility to work overtime as neededPerform all tasks in a timely and accurate manner

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationshipsAbility to work effectively in independent situations and exercise good judgment to reach sound conclusionsAbility to follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures, etc.Ability to read, interpret and perform from various documents, including method sheets, assembly drawings, production reports, safety rules, printed shop schedules, blueprints, KanBan cards/boards, operating maintenance instruction and procedure manuals, etc.Ability to properly identify components and gain extensive parts knowledgeAbility to identify and obtain appropriate parts for work station operation. Ability to use CRT and data entry technologies (bar code, key entry)General knowledge of machinery, specifically related to areas of responsibilityAbility to judge distances, spatial relationships, and perform visual and/or mechanical inspections; ability to distinguish colors and finishesBasic math and computer skillsAbility to perform jobs at the same or lower labor grade than current job

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to continuously lift up to 5 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift up to 60 pounds, and rarely lift over 60 poundsAbility to demonstrate manual dexterity; ability to repetitively use fingers and hands to feel, handle, or squeeze; reach with hands and arms; twist/turn body; perform repetitive motionsAbility to stand, walk, and/or sit, frequently and for extended periods of timeAbility to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawlAbility to operate industrial powered equipment within manufacturer’s height and weight requirements and guidelines for operators.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
