1st Shift Material Handler

Shift: Monday to Friday

OT: Minimal

Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Pay: $16.25

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision, a Material Handler in warehouse operations is responsible for performing a variety of tasks that support the processing of returned/recalled items on behalf of a retailer or manufacturer. The Material Handler position requires high attention to detail and ability to read, understand and follow standard operating procedures specific to this position.

Primary Duties:

Lift and move boxes to and/or from the scanning linesOpen boxes (or other containers) of returned/recalled items with a box cutterVisually match or identify the Return Authorization (RA) information on the outside of the container to the paperwork and specific items within the container to verify that it matchesFollow instructions for handling any discrepancies notedPrepare paperwork for scanning by smoothing folds and removing staples; enter additional information to the system as promptedPlace items processed into a tote; prepare a placard with RA and tote barcode for scanning processWhen scanning process is complete, add totes to a pallet, label the pallet for storage; move pallets to storage as directedStock empty totes at scanning lines and remove trash from scanning area as directedAlways maintain a clean and orderly workstation and areaIf forklift certified, operate forklift for movement of order/products on the processing floor, if assignedPerform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Legally authorized to work in the U.S.High School diploma (or its equivalent) or minimum of two year’s work experience in a warehouse or production job; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the responsibilities of this positionAble to follow standard operation and safety proceduresAble to work in an environment that is not climate controlledAble to push a cart or hand truck up to 100 yards; able to use a pallet jackAble to grasp and use box cutters and seal zip lock bagsAble to work under time pressure and meet production goals; able to work more than 8 hours per day (over-time) as neededAble to assist with other operations within the warehouse, as neededAble to handle hazardous waste materials with appropriate safety measures
