Summary

Provide QA oversight in a larger work area which would include operational performance as well as quality performance. Ability to step in as relief in the event of technician openings or absences. Report to supervisor of the area any issues not resolved.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Grades product according to written standards. Product is graded visually, although an interpretation of "borderline" calls must be justifiable. Record information obtained on grading records or computer data input devices.

2. Identify when product graded deviates from normal ranges and communicate this information to supervision, QA and Operations. Retain product and oversee the disposition of the product to bring it into compliance.

3. Conduct quality measurements as needed to assess process capability, as directed by QA management.

4. Must be train and proficient with the facility's HACCP plan, Good Manufacturing Practices and Sanitation Operation Procedures and implement Corrective Actions if deviations are observed.

5. Must be familiar with deviations resulting in the stressing of product which could reduce shelf life of the affected product.

6. Must continually evaluate potential for foreign material contamination while in assigned work areas.

Minimum Education

High school or equivalent.

Experience Requirements

Reading skills sufficient to learn written product standards, HACCP plans and complete grading/HACCP forms. Math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication.

Experience Preferred

Experience in further processing and cook plants; experience in quality assurance preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

1. A wet environment in temperatures 50-70 degrees F.

2. Handling product 30-50 degrees F.

3. Lifting boxes weighting up to 60 lbs from a pallet 6" off the floor to a height of approximately 40". 

4. Wear appropriate safety and sanitary equipment as required by company policy.

5. Exposure to antimicrobials.
