**General Production Opening:1st Shift Racking / Un-Racking** **Job Description** The Racker / Un-Racker will be working in the plating department. This role involves the application of metal plating and living finishes using various chemical solutions to achieve desired colors or finishes. The Racker / Un-Racker will be responsible for racking or wiring parts, dipping them in chemical baths and rinse tanks, drying parts with forced air, and cleaning or waxing the finished product to obtain the desired results. **Responsibilities** + Perform metal plating and living finish application using chemical solutions. + Rack or wire parts, dip them in chemical baths and rinse tanks, dry parts with forced air, and clean or wax the finished product. + Process living finishes using burnishing machines, which require exposure to nut shells. + Conduct electro-stripping to remove the outer chrome plated layer and expose the underlying bright nickel finish. + Peel or unwrap parts in preparation for further finishing, verify type and quantity of parts against the production order form, and stage them in trays. + Return finished parts to inventory, scan production tickets into the ERP computer system, and advance parts to the next stage of assembly or production using bar code scanners and personal computers. **Essential Skills** + 6 months of similar experience. + Ability to communicate discrepancies to team leader and solve problems. + Compliance with all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment. + Attention to detail, accuracy, dependability, and persistence. + Visual examination of finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications. + Ability to work overtime as needed. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in production, plating, dipping, racking. **Why Work Here?** Our Client is a family-owned company with a workforce of 300 employees across three different buildings.
