Job Description
A distribution company that manufactures automotive parts is seeking a long-term receiving clerk/warehouse worker. The ideal candidate will work on the 1st shift and be responsible for various warehouse duties.
ResponsibilitiesReceive and restock inventory, dispatch, and overstockLoad and unload materials from trucksBreak down boxes and package items for shipmentUse order rolling stairs, pickers, and RF scanners to fulfill ordersAssist Warehouse Supervisors as neededPackage items for shipmentPick orders utilizing stairs to reach material for the automotive industry (rolling stairs may range from 7-15 steps long)Essential SkillsExperience with picking and packingProficiency with RF scannersKnowledge of warehouse inventory management systems (WMS)Ability to operate pallet jacksExperience with shipping and receiving processesAdditional Skills & QualificationsMust regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 poundsComfortable utilizing rolling safety ladders, about 5-7 steps (rarely 15 ft stair ladder for shipping)Ability to speak, read, and write EnglishMust be able to stand, walk, sit, push, pull, and reach with hands and armsOccasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or squatSelf-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environmentWhy Work Here?
Employees have the opportunity to receive a $0.50 increase once they go direct. Additionally, they will be trained on forklift operations, leading to an extra dollar per hour. The company offers medical, dental, and vision benefits.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually high due to forklifts and other machinery running through the facility. The 1st shift schedule is Monday to Friday, 5 AM - 1:30 PM, with mandatory overtime up to 2 hours daily and occasional Saturdays. The dress code includes plain shirts, jeans (no holes), and closed-toed shoes. Logos for beer, alcohol, etc., are not permitted.
