Position Summary:
\r\nThe Shipping Lead is responsible for assisting the Supervisor with duties in the assigned production area while ensuring that job tasks, assignments, and rotations are followed. The Lead will also be responsible for performing a variety of production focused tasks to support the daily production goals.
\r\nEssential Duties, Functions and responsibilities:
\r\nFollows direction of Production Supervisor to assign and instruct personnel of daily production duties.
\r\nObserves equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns.
\r\nProvide accurate and timely feedback to supervisor regarding any issues or problems that may arise during daily production.
\r\nHelps coordinate daily set up of equipment to ensure the line is prepared to run on time.
\r\nComplete required checks and measurements, record accurately.
\r\nAssist in training and developing staff to ensure a quality product.
\r\nAssist with new hire ergonomic evaluations and performance evaluations.
\r\nPosition is required to work before department start time in order to assist with area set-ups.
\r\nAccountable to maintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours.
\r\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
\r\nFollows all safety, USDA, and GMP policies and guidelines.
\r\nMaintain a clean and organized work area.
\r\nAbility to work in a fast paced environment.
\r\nAbility to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions & policies.
\r\nMust be able to work in a team atmosphere and possess good leadership skills.
\r\nMust have working knowledge of all positions on the line.
\r\nMust be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
\r\nMust be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
\r\nMust pass a background check, drug screen and pre-employment physical.
\r\nSome positions may require the ability to read, write, and/or speak English. Bilingual in English/Spanish helpful.
\r\nPhysical Requirements:
\r\nLifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 65lbs or more).
\r\nReaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs).
\r\nOperating hand held and/or mechanical machinery.
\r\nWalking/climbing stairs. Gripping, grasping, and twisting using hands and wrists.
\r\nBending and stooping for long periods of time.
\r\nWorking Conditions/Department Description:
\r\nDepartment hours vary depending upon season. Overtime and weekend work may be required.
\r\nThere is mandatory seasonal work for approximately 5 to 6 weeks during the months of October and November, which includes working 7 days per week.
\r\nJob assignments are subject to the supervisor’s discretion, and job duties may vary day-to-day depending on production needs.
\r\nMay work in damp, cold, hot, and warm environments.
\r\nWork with loud and noisy machinery.
\r\nWork with or around chemicals/fumes/pungent odors.
