GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a Project Manager for highway design projects for the Program Performance team.
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented project manager to join our team and provide strategic project management oversight for the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) at the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT). As a project manager, you will collaborate with various WYDOT programs, driving the implementation of best practices to optimize program performance and ensure successful project delivery. This is an incredible opportunity to contribute to a $1.5 billion plan of highway construction projects over the next six years, working with a dedicated team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

+ Lead with Impact: Assist the Program Performance team in overseeing the successful completion of high-impact highway design projects, contributing to the transformation of the state’s infrastructure.
+ Strategic Project Management: Monitor, analyze, and forecast project schedules, applying WYDOT, state and federal policies and priorities to ensure timely completion. Use your expertise to keep projects on track through efficient coordination and communication.
+ Data-Driven Decision Making: Perform sophisticated data analysis to identify projected durations, resource needs, and critical path activities—ensuring the most efficient use of time and resources across the plan.
+ Collaborative Communication: Act as the key liaison between headquarter programs and District offices, fostering clear communication around project schedules, status updates, and resource needs, ensuring alignment across the agency.
+ Process and Program Improvement: Work alongside the Senior Project Manager to implement strategies that improve program outcomes, contributing to the development of best practices and new initiatives.
+ Training and Development Leadership: Take charge of training initiatives by identifying and implementing strategies for the identified system users. Develop engaging training materials, online modules, and job aids to support software adoption and process improvements.
+ Innovate & Lead Change: Help draft and implement procedural improvements that drive efficiency and excellence in project management, from training to execution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Business/Project Management)
Experience:
0-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in project management)
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in project management)

+ One year of service to WYDOT must be completed, failure to complete this requirement will forfeit the hiring incentive, funds will be recouped from final pay.
+ Internal candidates would be required to remain in the position for a minimum of one (1) year from their promotion date.
+ Employees would only be eligible for one (1) hiring bonus in a 12-month period.
+ If the employee elects to downgrade through an active recruitment and/or appointment during the twelve (12) month period, they would be required to pay the bonus back.
