Annual Compensation: $57,000
Program Dates: July 2025 - July 2026
Position Status: Full time, benefit eligible.
Primary Location: Vail, CO (with travel to other clinic locations, and outreach events)
The Steadman Clinic offers a twelve-month post-professional athletic training residency program for certified athletic trainers. The post-professional residency is a CAATE accredited program. The residency program is a paid educational program that focuses on the athletic trainer's knowledge and skills in clinical and surgical orthopaedics. The athletic trainer works directly with world renowned orthopaedic physicians and knowledgeable healthcare staff in the clinic, operating room, outreach venues and research institute. The twelve-month education program and clinical experience includes patient care in a busy orthopaedic clinic, covering a wide variety of sporting events, surgical observation and assisting in the operating room, active participation in educational lecture and labs, and research/publication opportunities through the Steadman Philippon Research Institute. The Steadman Clinic is located in Vail, Colorado. The clinic is at the base of Vail ski resort, one of the top ski resorts in world, and is surrounded by a mecca of outdoor activities during all seasons. The goal of the clinic is to provide the highest standard of orthopaedic care to each and every patient. The clinic is known for its contributions and advances to the orthopaedic field, surgical outcomes and highly skilled orthopaedic surgeons. The Steadman Clinic is a national medical center with the U.S. Olympic Committee and a medical provider for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. Our athletic training residents are an integral part of our operations, and our program is one of the oldest (established 1996) and most prestigious in the nation. Thank you for your interest in The Steadman Clinic Athletic Training Residency. Dates for application submission for the 2025-2026 program will be from December 2, 2024 to February 7, 2025. Any applications received after February 7th , will not be reviewed. If selected for interviews, in-person interviews will take place in early April. Final acceptance into the program will be in April with a start date of July 17, 2025.

The residency is a post-professional program, all candidates must be certified athletic trainers at the start of the residency.
