2025-2026 Enrichment Teacher for The Constellations Program
Crescent City Schools
Crescent City Schools is seeking a full-time (10-month) Enrichment Teacher interested in working with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other related disabilities to provide an individualized, supportive learning environment. This role involves creating differentiated enrichment activities in the arts (music, visual arts, dance, etc), and working closely with other educators, specialists, and families to meet the unique needs of each student. The Constellations Program’s enrichment teacher will report to the Director of The Constellations Program.
Our Enrichment Teachers impact students’ lives through:
Development and Delivery of Arts Curriculum:
+ Create age-appropriate, sensory-friendly, and individualized lesson plans tailored to the needs of students with autism.
+ Use visual, hands-on, and structured teaching methods to engage students with different learning abilities.
+ Adapt projects to help students develop fine motor skills, creativity, self-expression, and social interaction.
Support and Guidance:
+ Offer one-on-one or small group instruction, addressing each student's unique needs and strengths.
+ Foster a supportive environment where students can express themselves and develop confidence in their creative abilities.
+ Guide students in using the arts to communicate and manage emotions.
Collaboration with Other Educators:
+ Work with special education teachers, interventionists, and therapists to design and implement strategies that support each student’s individual learning plan (IEP).
+ Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to monitor progress and make adjustments to the curriculum.
Assessment of Student Progress:
+ Continuously assess students' artistic and emotional development, providing constructive feedback.
+ Track student growth in terms of skills, engagement, and self-expression.
Creation of an Inclusive Environment:
+ Foster a calm, structured, and predictable classroom environment to reduce sensory overload.
+ Incorporate various sensory-friendly materials and activities, ensuring students can enjoy the creative process without stress.
Maintain Enrichment Supplies and Space:
+ Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the enrichment rooms and materials.
+ Ensure that enrichment tools and supplies are safe and accessible for students with sensory sensitivities.
Communication with Parents/Guardians:
+ Maintain open communication with parents or guardians to discuss students' progress and address any concerns.
+ Provide suggestions for fostering creativity at home.

Physical Requirements
+ Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, kneel, crouch, bend, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds
+ Must be physically able to perform Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training and techniques and react and intervene quickly during crisis situations, such as but not limited to the following circumstances: student elopement, physical altercations involving students, or any situation that requires physical intervention to maintain student safety
+ This is an in-person role

About The Constellations Program
The Constellations Program is a preK through 4th grade school setting for students with low-incidence disabilities. At Constellations, we prepare students to achieve their highest independent level of functioning. The Constellations Program will support students in meeting their functional skill needs as well as the academic skills aligned to the LEAP Connect. While this program is geared primarily towards students with Autism, it is open to other students with limited to no verbal skills, intellectual impairments, and similar exceptionalities.
