The role: 

We are seeking a talented, highly motivated intern to join our research team in Shanghai for a 10-week summer internship. The successful candidate will undertake research and analysis relating to the transition towards a low-carbon economy, working alongside our specialists in energy, commodities, transport and industry.


The summer internship program consists of:

Conduct research on topics such as power markets and energy storagePerform a variety of analyses such as market sizing, policy/regulatory research and forecastingSpeak with industry figures and BloombergNEF clients to gather information and opinionsPublish written research on topics covered
This is an entry level role, where you’ll need to be:Currently enrolled in university with a Bachelor's degree (or above), and graduating between September 2025 and August 2026Available to work for the whole duration of 10 weeks between 16 June to 22 August 2025Legal authorization to work full time in Mainland China and will not require visa sponsorship now or in the future


You’ll need to have:

A demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for energy, commodities or low-carbon industries through academic course or work/internship experience or extracurricular activitiesExperience in market research and the ability to derive information from public sources through in-person / telephone interviewsUnderstanding and experience in quantitative problem solving or analysisStrong critical-thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively and articulate thought process clearlyBusiness level proficiency and fluency in English and MandarinWorking knowledge of Excel and other MS Office applications


We’d love to see:

An understanding of policy, transport and/or environmental marketsExperience using Python
