Job Summary:

We are seeking Aerospace Systems Engineers to work as part of a team that performs and provides Operations, Maintenance and Engineering (OM&E) Command and Control functions to our proprietary customer.  Key areas of focus include Satellite Flight Operations, Mission Planning, Vehicle Operations and Engineering and Ground Systems Engineering in support of an integral 24/7 Operations environment. As such availability for non-scheduled call-in is required and the job assignment requires working a combination of day staff and shift schedules, assigned based on the adaptable needs of the team. Systems Engineers will support operational teams as part of a larger team which utilizes a diverse dynamic workforce, including many experts in their fields.

This position is an onsite role – Las Cruces, New Mexico

Top Secret/ SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph is required prior to start. This process can take up to 15 months for issuance so fall 2025/Spring 2026 start is expected.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Create and/or implement a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems.Obtain/maintain technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility to accurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand. Obtain/apply technical knowledge on various hardware subsystems.Document discrepancies as they occur. Implement workarounds and contingency plans to minimize impacts of system anomalies.Contribute to the testing, readiness, training, and implementation of new ground software deliveries.Cross-train in other operator positions as assigned and assist with training of other personnel on the contract team.Support test activities as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)This position requires 12 months or less of professional experience (excluding internships)The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/ SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

3.0 cumulative GPA desired Experience providing/receiving training to/from a wide range of learning techniques and stylesProficient use of both Windows and Unix platformsExperience with Perl, Python, VBA and or other scripting languagesKnowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
