**About the Role**
Join the Location & Sensors team in Maps and take ownership of the very first step of every Uber journey. This team builds the critical flows that collect and upload real-time device data (GPS, IMU, Acceleration) from riders, eaters, and drivers billions of times per day. Some of the core experiences at Uber such as navigation, routing, ETA estimation, safety, matching, etc all rely on the inferences provided by our Mobile SDK, used by all iOS developers at the company.
**What You’ll Do**
- Design and build capabilities in our core Mobile SDKs used by all iOS developers at Uber.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to conceptualize and ship innovative map-based features.
- Analyze user data and A/B test results to iterate on features and continuously improve the user experience.
- Write robust, maintainable, and scalable code in Swift that powers the foundational map interactions for Uber's core services.
**What You’ll Need**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Must have graduated or completed an engineering related bootcamp between January 2024 to November 2025.
- Experience in Android Development, Android java, or Android Kotlin, iOS development (e.g. internships), with a proven track record of shipping high-quality, consumer-facing applications.
- Proficiency in Swift and/or Objective-C.
- Knowledge of UIKit, Core Animation, Core Graphics, and related iOS frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex technical initiatives on time.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- If selected, must be willing to start the role no later than December 15th, 2025.
**Bonus Points If**
- Passion for and experience with cartography, mapping, location-based services and applications.
- Expertise with custom UI and iOS/Swift best practices including experience with SwiftUI.
- Experience building mobile frameworks and libraries that are used by a large number of developers.
- Experience with A/B testing and data-driven product development.
- Cross-platform (Android and iOS)
For Canada-based roles: The base salary range for this role is CAD$114,000 per year - CAD$120,000 per year.
