Join us as an intern where you’ll split your time between two dynamic groups: Technical Excellence and Data Standards and Governance (DSG) Enabling Platforms.
Dive into Data Acquisition, focusing on non-Case Report Form (non-CRF) data. Collaborate with peers to craft and implement innovative data ingestion and processing solutions adhering to F.A.I.R. principles. Participate in initiatives that craft our technical landscape and healthcare environments. Strong strategic, collaboration, and communication skills, along with an entrepreneurial mentality, are essential.
Lead the design, implementation, and governance of industry-wide biomedical data standards from protocol to submission. Become a key contributor in maintaining these standards for laboratory data.
The Opportunity:
Serve as guides in data collection, advising on best practices and innovative solutions. Chip in to the design, governance, and implementation of biomedical data standards, specializing in safety laboratory data.
Work with key business stakeholders to prioritize and develop new data standards. Engage in impact analysis, risk assessment, and cost/benefit analysis to continuously improve standards and support their implementation.
Help develop and embed technical products into business processes. Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal work processes and tools, promoting FAIR data principles across Roche.
Develop risk management strategies and handle timelines to ensure successful project oversight and delivery.
Engage proactively with stakeholders to understand their needs and communicate key deliverables. Partner with relevant functions for external data vendor selection and management, ensuring accurate data transfer agreements and standards.
Who you are:
You hold a bachelor in science or equivalent experience in Life Sciences, Data/Computer Science, Bioinformatics or related field.
You are currently enrolled in a Masters in Biotechnology program, in the Digital Health and Technology Stream.
Scientific Expertise and Curiosity: Possesses a scientific background in medical, biological, lab, imaging, or life sciences with a keen curiosity about diverse data types (e.g., clinical, biomarker, WGS, RNA-seq) and the complexities of working with multiple vendors.
Comfortable navigating multiple systems, platforms, and tools, with the ability to understand sophisticated interdependencies, work autonomously, and manage multiple requests and priorities.
Demonstrates tight-knit collaboration, excellent written and oral communication skills, and leadership capabilities in decision-making, negotiation, motivation, and influencing stakeholders.

Location: Hybrid, Based in Mississauga (minimum 3 days in the office)
Hours: full-time (35 hours per week)
Length: This position is a 12-month work term (full-time) and is expected to begin in may 2025
