Raytheon is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to support NASA's EOSDIS Evolution and Development 3 (EED-3) program based out of Annapolis, MD, which provides critical Earth Science data for climate researchers world-wide. This position supports the maintenance and evolution of the EOSDIS ECS, CMR, Earthdata, and NGAP systems - key components of NASA's Earth Science mission. These systems run on a Linux platform and are implemented largely in Java, Ruby and C++. 

The ideal candidate will be a highly enthusiastic team member excited about learning new technologies and continually evolving an operational system. In this position the intern will have the opportunity to have hands-on development of new system capabilities supporting climate research.

Qualifications You Must Have  

Must be pursuing a BS or MS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore by the start of summer 2025U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

 Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with shell scripting, Perl, C++, and Ruby on Rails Experience with database applications such as PostgreSQL and Oracle Experience with Cloud environments and DevOpsFamiliarity with Agile developmentProficiency in Java or Ruby in a Linux or UNIX development environment

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
