Job Summary: 

In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.  

Our Effectors team in Tucson, Arizona integrates hardware and software, develops test plans and procedures, debugs and evaluates system functions and interfaces, and verifies system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer.   

This internship opportunity will run part-time during the academic school year, and transition to a full-time internship position once Spring semester has ended. Part-time hours will be coordinated with the intern and hiring manager. 

This position is an onsite role that requires the candidate to commute to the Raytheon Tucson site and to work part-time onsite during the academic year at a facility in Tucson, AZ.

Position will require full time employment during candidates’ academic summer break.  

This position can be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below: 

(Sophomore Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Sophomore by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment (Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment (Senior Technical Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment (Post-Graduate Technical Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship 

What You Will Do: 

Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Flight Test activities in our labs, in the field, or at a test range  Test event support activity may require travel, which is not expected to exceed 15%  Support qualification of our products  Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment  Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB  Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders  

Qualifications You Must Have: 

This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of 2025 Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Ability to work part-time onsite in Tucson, AZ during the academic year  Academic or internship experience that included hands-on testing of electronic equipment Exposure to troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, or as part of a hobby 

Qualifications We Prefer: 

Experience with or exposure to various military platforms for weapons conveyance, such as ships, ground combat systems, fixed and rotary wing aircraft  Experience with using telemetry data collection equipment to capture real time data and/or real time monitoring  Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols  Experience with reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C# preferred  Experience with instrumentation and collection of large data sets, including the application of scripting or automation to data collection and analysis

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
