2025 Internship - Information Technology - System Administrator Assistant
Description Are you interested in learning about enterprise Information Technology operations? Would you like the opportunity to work with talented technology professionals who specialize in fields like High Performance Computing, large managed storage arrays, cybersecurity, and application management? We are seeking an intern to work our System Administrators and technical managers to assist us with streamlining our IT operations. You will be working with our section supervisors and technical system administrators to learn about how we support over 3000 customers across our 18 classified information systems. Working with customers and storage specialists to gather information about data storage and HPC and GPU utilization Assisting the Windows and Linux teams with new system builds and decomisioning. Communicating with the group staff to acquire information to be added to our group website. Monitor ticketing queues and gathering usage metrics. Inventorying and validating applications across mutliple inforamtion systems. Working with our analytics team on building and testing experimental Power Bi and Splunk dashboards. Have a passion for data management and and presentation. Are skilled at Microsoft Office applications like Excel and Word. Are comfortable with leading meetings and presentations. Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Are able to obtain a secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
