2025 Internship - Security Analyst (Classified Compliance)

If you are pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field and want to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity risk management and compliance, we would love to have you on our team. About the Role We are seeking an intern to help us enhance the security and compliance of classified information systems. As a member of our team, you will contribute to ensuring compliance with DoD and non-DoD cybersecurity regulations. You will be joining a dedicated group of cybersecurity professionals who are passionate about information security, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Learn the fundamentals of cybersecurity compliance, including DoD and non-DoD regulations. Assist with system security inspections, documentation reviews, and policy updates. Support system automation efforts and application workflow upgrades. Observe and contribute to classified system security assessments. Collaborate with cybersecurity professionals and learn from experts across multiple disciplines. Qualifications You Meet Our Minimum Qualifications If You... Are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field. Have a passion for cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management. Have a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Are a U.S. citizen and can obtain an Interim Secret security clearance by your start date, with the ability to ultimately obtain a Secret clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. You’ll Go Above and Beyond Our Minimum Qualifications If You… Have experience with NIST SP 800-53 or other cybersecurity frameworks. Have strong organizational skills and experience managing technical documentation. Are familiar with GitHub and MS SharePoint for document management and collaboration. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
