Hoosier Racing Tire is the largest race tire manufacturer in the world. Hoosier has grown to produce over 1000 different types of race tires. Our Hoosier location at Plymouth, IN is seeking a Tire Engineering and Product Development Intern to join our team.

Job Description

The Tire Engineering Intern is responsible for the technical support of the Product Development Team. Responsibilities include indoor and outdoor testing data evaluation and programs new tools for data analysis and work efficiencies.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Research and identify potential improvements for the existing toolsProgram new tools for better data evaluationProgram new tools that will strengthen the collaboration between departments (scheduling, forecast, purchasing)Maintain existing toolsIdentify tire applications that could benefit from new materials regarding performance, cost and efficienciesData investigation (constructions and materials)Competitor tire evaluationEvaluation of outdoor and indoor testing dataSupport the Product Development Team in the implementation of new technologiesSupport the Head of RnD on urgent projects (quick analysis, overview or data investigation)

Candidate Attributes:

Excellent communication skills.Reliable and responsible to complete assigned tasks.Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled with minimum sophomore standing full-time as of Fall 2024.Be majoring in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degreeHave an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at the time of application)Experience with 2D and 3D design software (AutoCAD, Solidworks)Experience with MS Excel (macros, pivots, VBA)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in FSAE/BAJA or similar projects are an advantage
