2025 MLB Digital Content Diversity Fellowship

In partnership with Major League Baseball’s Content Group and the Diversity Equity & Inclusion Department, we present MLB.com’s Digital Content Fellowship program. The eight-month initiative is designed to attract early career candidates, including recent college graduates, and prepare them for roles in the Content Department and the baseball industry at-large with a full baseball season with the Content team. The fellowship is focused on attracting well-qualified applicants with a unique lived experience who understand the domestic and international significance of the game, the global makeup of rosters, and a general knowledge of the sport’s cultural impact on diverse communities and fanbases.

The Content Group has oversight of MLB.com, the official site of Major League Baseball, and all of MLB’s social media accounts. MLB.com brings you the most up-to-date, informative and exciting baseball information in the industry. Coverage features exclusive interviews, exclusive stories, audio and video clips, and statistics.

The Digital Content Fellowship Program features training, one-on-one mentorship from senior editors/reporters and seeks to create experiential learning opportunities in a professional environment. Some positions will be remote while others could be based in New York City. There will be opportunities for all selected participants to visit the Commissioner’s Office in New York and to network with staff and sit in on meetings with other departments. Fellows will also have an opportunity to assist in the coverage of Spring Training along with MLB  jewel events that includes the 2025 All-Star Game, 2025 Little League Classic, and more.

The eight-month long program begins in March 2025 and continues through mid-November 2025. The deadline for applications is February 1, 2025. If all positions are not filled, the application deadline may extend past February 1, 2025. Please apply today if interested in being considered.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelors Degree Two to three years of news gathering experience (including work done for school-related media outlets), with an emphasis on accuracy, writing, reporting, copy editing, and the ability to work well under deadlines and fast-paced situations with multiple responsibilities Strong communication and organizational skills Familiarity with content management systems, social media platforms, and web publishing Anyone who has completed their degree prior to the start of the 2024 season is eligible

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is an hourly rate of $25. The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors Major League Baseball considers relevant to hiring decisions.
