2025 Summer Analyst, Financial Planning & Operations
Responsibilities Our formal 10-week internship programs provide students with the opportunity to work on critical projects integral to our team's success. Interns work alongside some of the best minds in Real Estate, in an innovative, fast-paced environment and are expected to approach tasks and projects with dedication and initiative. Our internship program connects students with industry leaders and provides foundational real estate knowledge through a speaker series and networking events. We focus on accelerating growth with hands-on professional development and training. Recognizing that real estate thrives on relationships, we create an engaging experience with volunteering, portfolio tours, and intern led activities, all designed to build collaboration and a connected cohort. Responsibilities: The Summer Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Financial Planning and Operations team for Related Management Company. The analyst will have exposure to the 400+ residential assets and aid in the budgeting, financial reporting, and P&L’s of these portfolios to optimize performance for the organization. The analyst will be able to get a sense of the operational tools needed to keep a property running efficiently and effectively from a financial perspective. Assist with the preparation of the property budgets, with input from Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, Community Managers, Asset Managers and Owners. Analyzes monthly performance and budget projections and compares to annual management plan and budget Review and analysis of detailed budget variance reports (BVR), income expense, capital expenditures, leasing costs, NOI and cash flow; financial analysis of construction & development projects relative to each site’s operational and financial status and goals. Assist in creating monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting packages. Create monthly cash flow projections for cost centers and business platforms. Prepare actual versus budget variance analysis. Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $30/hr Qualifications Current undergraduate junior with a target graduation date between December 2025- Spring 2026 A strong passion for real estate Excellent quantitative and analytical skills; expertise with excel Exhibits a strong understanding of technical skills and job specific knowledge Demonstrates clear and concise communication skills, both verbally and in writing Self-Starter with a proactive approach to tackling tasks and challenges Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to new challenged in a dynamic environment Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance or Real Estate Resume must include expected graduation month/year and GPA Related is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.
