2025 Summer Communications Internship

Program Experience 

CSL’s Internship Program is a hands-on experience that showcases the daily innovation and operations of a leading biotechnology company. Our environment is collaborative, global, and purpose-driven. This internship will span 10-12 weeks, offering an opportunity to gain valuable industry experience in a supportive and professional environment. The intern will work in a dynamic and equitable environment that emphasizes health and safety, operational efficiency, and a culture of continuous improvement.  

Gain valuable professional experience in communications, event planning, community outreach, and customer service skills in a growing bio-therapeutics company. Intern will also learn about local not-for-profit organizations in Kankakee County.
 

Main Responsibilities:

Prepare weekly KankakeeNews Newsletter by writing articles, taking photos, interviewing employees, etc.  Software used to create Newsletter is Campaign Monitor which can be easily learned.

Assist with preparation and implementation of special events.

Provide writing support for materials including website, social media, stories, and CSL NOW.

Assist with fundraising events the Giving for Good Committee implements for local not-for-profit organizations along with patient organizations.

Assist with clerical work such as invoice processing and day-to-day operations tasks.

Coordinating community outreach tours, check presentations, and photos.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements: 

Enrolled in a 4-year university with progression toward an undergraduate degree in communications, journalism or related field.

Student must have completed sophomore year at the beginning of summer, 2025.

Microsoft Office computer skills required.  Canva or Adobe Illustrator skills a plus.

Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills required. Must display maturity and a high level of professionalism. Demonstrates acceptance of responsibility, shows pride in work performed, demonstrates flexibility and acceptance of assignments and schedules. Maintains professional behavior and appearance. Exhibits dependability.

The expected wage range for this position at hiring is 22.00/hour - $24.00/hour. Please note this wage range reflects what CSL expects to pay for this position at the listed location as of the time of this posting. Individual base pay for a successful candidate within this range is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies and other relevant factors.
