2025 Summer Intern, Energy Advisory (Bachelors or Masters; Hybrid or Remote)

ICF Energy Advisory Interns contribute to the development of innovative, analytical, high-quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff.  Our Interns are given opportunities to work on assignments that foster growth and allow them to develop solutions within the policy, power, gas, renewable energy, and/or distributed resources sectors. Through client engagements, colleague and peer interactions, and specialized training, ICF Interns develop subject matter expertise and project management skills. 

This is a full-time, 10-week internship that begins in early June 2025. Work may be done remotely from any U.S. location or hybrid from our Reston, VA office for those local to the area.   At this time, we are unable to provide relocation nor housing assistance for this internship.
 
As a Energy Advisory Intern, you will: 

Perform advanced quantitative and economic analysis of energy and environmental markets 

Contribute to the development and enhancement of ICF proprietary models and databases 

Evaluate the impact of future regulation and support the development of client strategies to manage change 

Write analysis for major corporate and government client’s deliverables 

Support the development of research synthesis reports, industry benchmarking, quantitative analysis and policy summaries

Contribute to business development and marketing efforts and thought leadership development through market research, data analysis and creation of marketing content.


Basic Qualification:  

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program studying Energy, Policy, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Operations Research, Engineering, or related field with an anticipated graduation date of August 2025 or later.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program studying Energy, Policy, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Operations Research, Engineering, or related field with an anticipated graduation date of August 2025 or later.

Strong interest in one or more of these areas: energy economics, energy finance, operations research, and energy policy analysis

The ability to work with and understand technical concepts, while also being able to communicate them to non-technical personnel   

Basic knowledge of R, Python and/or other coding languages   

Strong organizational and project management skills  

Strong analytical skills and capabilities in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) 

Working knowledge of US energy markets, policies, and technology.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$32,591.00 - $67,040.00
