2025 Summer Intern, Energy Engineer (Bachelors, Remote)

ICF Energy Interns contribute to the development of innovative, analytical, high quality and commercially relevant products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff.  Our Interns are given opportunities to work on assignments that foster growth and allow them to develop solutions within the power, gas, renewable energy, and distributed resources sectors. Through client engagements, colleague and peer interactions, and specialized training, ICF Interns develop subject matter expertise and project management skills.  

 

This is a 10 week, full-time internship that begins in early June 2025. The work may be completed remotely (or hybrid if an ICF office is within local proximity of candidate) from California (preference for Southern CA), Arizona; New Mexico; Oregon; or Washington. At this time, we are unable to provide relocation nor housing assistance.     
  
As a Energy Intern, you will:  

Perform advanced quantitative and economic analysis of energy and environmental markets  

Contribute to the development and enhancement of ICF proprietary models and databases  

Evaluate the impact of future regulation and support the development of client strategies to manage change  

Write analysis for major corporate and government client’s deliverables  

Support sales and client development efforts with market research, proposal development and thought leadership  

Support the development of research synthesis reports, industry benchmarking, quantitative analysis and policy summaries 

Contribute to ongoing business development and marketing efforts as well as supporting the development of thought leadership. 

 
As a Energy Intern, you likely have:  

The ability to work with and understand technical concepts, while also being able to communicate them to non-technical personnel

Strong interest in one or more of these areas: energy economics, finance, energy efficiency analytics, climate change, and policy  

Basic knowledge of R, Python and/or other coding languages    

Strong organizational and project management skills   

Strong analytical skills and capabilities in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)  

Working knowledge of energy policy trends and recent regulatory policy developments  

 
Basic Qualifications:   

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program studying Engineering, Energy or related field (with an anticipated graduation of August 2025 or later)

Preferred Qualification:

Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program studying Engineering, Energy or related field (with an anticipated graduation of August 2025 or later)

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$29,984.00 - $76,425.00
