2025 Summer Intern – Investigative PK-ADME (iPK/ADME), Translational Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics - Development Sciences
Department Summary
This intern position is in the Translational Pharmacokinetics (PK) & Pharmacodynamic (PD) or tPKPD Department within Development Sciences. The tPKPD department applies preclinical models (in vitro, in vivo, and in silico) to determine the pharmacokinetics and/or pharmacodynamics of our biotherapeutics. The iPK/ADME Group focuses its effort on investigating the fate (disposition, biotransformation and distribution) and route of administration of novel biotherapeutic modalities, and effectively influence Drug Design, Delivery and Development Decision; we strive to develop and apply novel technologies through close and extensive collaborations and provide high-quality experimental data to help predict and translating the disposition of biological modalities from animals to humans. The information obtained from this work may be used to help select lead molecules, optimize dosing regimens or understand the PK behavior/metabolic fate of different molecular designs as we help advance molecules through stages of research and into early clinical development.
This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site.
The Opportunity
Design and implement in-vitro studies that are necessary to understand the biodistribution and fate of new modality candidates and predict their behavior in humans
Interpret data and communicate results in department meetings
Gain knowledge of PK concepts and acquire experience of technology applications in drug development
Work across disciplines with scientists in a variety of fields
Program Highlights
Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship
Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects
Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry
