The Data Science Associate Internship role is an opportunity to be a member of an interdisciplinary scrum team responsible for designing and implementing automation-based solutions for all phases of the life cycle for R packages, Python libraries and other data science products.

Your scrum team will develop a suite of multifaceted, reusable and scalable CI/CD pipelines, both internal and open sourced, to ensure that code quality, security, and compliance are guaranteed from project inception through release. You will also play a critical role in designing and building LLM tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve data science programming efficiency.

The Opportunity:

The role of Data Science Associate is to provide statistical and statistical programming support to

Analytical Data Scientists and Biostatisticians involved in clinical research in Product Development. This is a unique opportunity to learn and contribute to various scientific and statistical aspects of drug development, where data scientists play a crucial role. The primary responsibilities include R/ SAS-based programming and application development, methodological research, and supporting the statistical analysis and interpretation of clinical trials.

Providing statistical expertise on clinical trial protocols, data analysis plans and statistical analysis plans.

Programming statistical analysis datasets and summaries (tables, listings, and graphs) for clinical trials according to requirements (specifications and standards).

Collaborating with other data scientists and stakeholders from numerous disciplines to help answer scientific questions with outcomes such as publications and presentations.

Providing analytical and programming support for exploratory activities such as personalized healthcare, biomarker development and pharmacokinetic/ pharmacodynamic modeling.

Software development: developing R packages, R shiny app, or automation workflows to support data engineering and data analysis.

Who You Are :

Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program at a Master level.

Master Degree intern majoring in Statistics, Mathematics or Data Science (highly preferred in the MBiotech Digital Health Technology program at University of Toronto).

Availability to attend the internship in a hybrid model (minimum 3 days in the office), full time and for a 12 month length.​

Technical capabilities in statistics and statistical programming.

Experience of writing R code.

Preferred:

Passion for learning and curious about drug development in the biotech industry.

Additional Information:

Duration (12 months), work term (Full time) and will begin in (May, 2025)

Location: Based in Mississauga, Ontario.

Our team follows a hybrid work structure (minimum 3 days in the office).

This position is not eligible for relocation support.
