The Investment Advisory Group (ICG) acts as a source of specialized investment knowledge that delivers analysis, education and thought leadership to our internal and external clients.

This internship sits within ICG, working closely with business development teams to drive asset gathering and client service efforts.  The student will play a key role in collaborating with Investment, Sales, Compliance and Marketing professionals by utilizing various tools to assist in the research and delivery of content across the entire product lineup of Hartford Funds.  The position will provide exposure to performance measurement and assessment, asset allocation, product lifecycle and competitive positioning disciplines. 

Please note: Summer Internship roles at Hartford Funds will adhere to our hybrid structure of working remotely on Mondays and Fridays, and working out of our Wayne, PA office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Reliable transportation on in-office days is required.

Responsibilities of the role:

Utilize FactSet and Morningstar to develop reports to help investment professionals and sales best position Hartford Funds products, including analyzing performance, portfolio characteristics, peers, and competitors.Participate in department meetings around due diligence, research topics and data analyticsWork with team on further development of HEART (Hartford Enhanced Analytics and Risk Tool) which serves as the primary resource for distribution to engage with financial professionals around portfolio construction best practicesPartner with Compliance, Marketing and Sales on various distribution initiativesOther duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

Must be currently enrolled in college as a Business/Finance/Economics majorExperience in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point preferredStrong ability to multi-task and handle several projects simultaneouslyFamiliarity with Mutual Funds and exchange-traded funds preferredInterest in Financial MarketsStrong desire to learn with professional driveWilling to take on new projects and lend a hand to the team where needed

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
